Provenzano Appointed to House Democratic Leadership Team
House Democratic Caucus Announces Leadership Team
Oklahoma City – The Oklahoma House of Representatives Democratic Caucus finalized and announced their leadership positions for the 59th Oklahoma Legislature.
“We have a diverse caucus that come from a range of backgrounds and I’m excited that our leadership team reflects that diversity,” said Representative Cyndi Munson (D-Oklahoma City.) “We have teachers, non-profit professionals, business owners, attorneys, insurance agents, and even an award winning recording artist.”
Rep. Munson, Representative Trish Ranson (D-Stillwater), and Representative John Waldron (D-Tulsa) were elected by their colleagues in the Democratic Caucus to serve as the Democratic Leader, Caucus Chair, and Caucus Vice-Chair/Secretary, respectively, in 2021. Representative Melissa Provenzano (D-Tulsa) was selected by Rep. Munson to serve as the Assistant Democratic Leader.
“Rep. Provenzano brings a wealth of experience as a legislator and educator and I know I can trust her to help lead our caucus as Assistant Leader,” said Munson. “Like me, she represents a district that has almost an even number of Democrats and Republicans so she knows how to work with people from all over the political spectrum.”
“The minority caucus represents Oklahomans from all walks of life and we will make sure their voices are heard,” said Democratic Caucus Chair Ranson. “I look forward to working with Leader Munson and the rest of our leadership team to do what is right for all Oklahomans.”
